Heritage Farm CSA - Heritage Farm
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

Beginning in January, we'll start taking reservations for our 2012 season.  If you're interested in participating or would like more information, please contact us!

What is a CSA? Community Supported Agriculture is a partnership between a farmer and his/her customers. CSA members make a financial committment to the farmer by purchasing their food (in the form of CSA shares) in advance of the harvest.  This provides the farmer with the pre-growing season capital required to purchase seed and other growing supplies.  In return, the farmer provides CSA members with a generous share of healthy, nutritious vegetables grown on the farm each week.

The original CSA model also required members to work a few hours on the farm. Not only did this provide some much-needed labor to the farmer, but it also helped customers gain an understanding and appreciation for the work involved in growing their food. In our CSA program, we encourage our members to spend some time working in our gardens, but we do not require it.

How much does it cost? We offer full and half shares in our CSA program, which are picked up weekly at our farm.

Full Share:   $575.00 for the season.
This share is ideal for an average family of four or a vegetarian couple.

Half Share:   $325.00 for the season.
This share size is ideal for a couple or
single vegetarian.

What vegetables are in a share? The vegetables distributed in CSA shares each week vary throughout the season. We usually include between 6 and 10 different items, depending on time of year and availability. For example, shares distributed
in June will have less variety than shares that are distributed in July, August or September.  Below is a list of some of the vegetables we grow that you may expect to find in your share any given week. We'll also have STRAWBERRIES this year!
